Before Rocky made him famous, Stallone was so broke he sold his Bullmastiff, Butkus, for $40 outside a 7-Eleven. He described living with the dog in a flophouse in 1971, both of them "thin and hungry." When things got worse, selling Butkus was his only option. After the Rocky script sold, Stallone tracked down the new owner and kept raising his offer until the man finally agreed to sell Butkus back for $15,000. The dog went on to appear in both Rocky and Rocky II. #Pubity #sylvesterstallone
