Emiliano Andrade-Covarrubias, 56, a Dallas green card holder and painting contractor, died Oct. 17, 2026 at the Rio Grande Processing Center in Laredo after staff found him unresponsive. Detained June 26 while reentering from Mexico, ICE claimed he hid a 2004 theft arrest to gain residency. His daughter said he disclosed it and was approved. He faced removal proceedings. Family alleged staff withheld his heart, diabetes and blood pressure meds and ignored chest pain. ICE said he received proper care. Cause of death remains pending autopsy. #ice #mexico #greencard
