CBS has locked in its new No. 1 NFL analyst for the long term. Three-time Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt joined ‘The NFL Today’ in 2023 before moving into the booth alongside Ian Eagle in 2025. He replaces Tony Romo, who signed a 10-year, $180 million extension with CBS in 2020 and had four years and $72 million remaining on that deal when he exited. Financial terms of Watt’s new agreement were not disclosed, but one of his biggest assignments is already set: he’ll call Super Bowl LXII in Atlanta in 2028 alongside Jim Nantz.
