🚨 WAIT A MINUTE… COLLIN GOSSELIN ACCUSED HIS FATHER OF ABUSE TOO?! 😳 Just when you think you’ve heard everything about the Gosselin family, another piece of their history starts circulating. A deleted Instagram post from SEPTEMBER 2020 is resurfacing. In that post, Collin accused his father, Jon Gosselin, of punching him in the face and kicking him while he was on the floor. Jon denied the allegations. A child welfare investigation subsequently classified the report as unfounded. But now people are revisiting that old controversy as Collin’s explosive memoir, In the Shadow of Eight, continues attracting attention. Jon has publicly defended his son’s book and supported Collin’s decision to speak about his childhood. And some people online are now questioning whether Jon had any influence over how Collin’s story was presented. To be clear, there is no verified evidence that Jon secretly controlled or heavily edited the memoir. But here’s what I believe: IF WE’RE GOING TO EXAMINE THIS FAMILY’S HISTORY, WE NEED TO BE WILLING TO LOOK AT ALL OF IT. That includes the allegations Collin has made against his mother. And the allegations he previously made against his father. I have publicly supported Collin, and that hasn’t changed. I believe he deserves compassion, independence, and the opportunity to tell his story in his own words. But supporting someone doesn’t mean ignoring complicated parts of their history. The real question is whether Collin has had the freedom to tell his experiences completely, without pressure from ANYONE. And I hope he has.
