They will call you crazy until they go silent. Why is the government coming out with a three-year campaign to be ready? Because it's going to be 2027 and in three years time it will be 2030. So when I'm telling people to put their ducks in a row, get ready, prepare yourself, start to become independent, learn how to grow your own food, do it. And when I mean get ready, I mean something that looks like this. I mean buying an extra pack of water every time you go shopping, adding some non-perishable goods into your trolley when you're at Asda, Aldi, or wherever you do your weekly shop. I'm going to quickly take you through what I'm putting together just so you have an idea of some things that you should have that will be handy and useful come a difficult time. The first thing is a camping stove. This just needs a gas canister and you'll be able to cook and have warm food. Next are supplies to be able to have power. So I've got a really big torch that will literally light up a whole town. I've got some solar camping lanterns that don't rely on any power, they've got solar panels on the top, also doubles up as a torch. I've got radio hand crank power banks. These are really essential because when there's no internet or no connection, you'll still be able to hear through the radio what's going on, also charges your device and it doubles up as a torch. This is really good to have with you in your backpack or in your car. I've got some regular power banks, I have some head lights. Again, you'll want to see in the night because if you break a bone or you break a leg, you're going to wish you never did. Rechargeable batteries, these are going to be expensive and hard to come by. No internet means no online banking, so cash and passports are absolutely essential. People stop caring about hygiene when things get bad. These I refuse to let hygiene go out the window, so I've got these flushable wipes just to make sure everyone can still stay clean and smell good. LifeStraws, this lets you drink any kind of water because there'll be no more running water, so you can still drink from lake water, puddle water, rain water, anything like that. I've got a big 300 piece first aid kit. Again, some hand sanitizer to stay on top of hygiene. I've been collecting some seeds for quite a while just in case I have to start growing my own food. I've got some things for the kids in case they start feeling unwell. Then this big file storage case which comes with a padlock to protect all of your most important documents. You put like passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, tenancy, anything in here that you want to protect, you put it inside here, lock it up. It's fireproof, waterproof, nothing's going to happen to your documents. That's it for what I've put together on top of stocking up on water and food. I still have a lot more on the way. Being prepared is the easiest way to have a piece of mind and just make sure that you and your family are taken care of. I'll try and tag as much as I can down below. I don't know what's in stock. If something's available and affordable, I'd highly recommend getting it and adding it to your kit now because come in a few weeks time, this is going to be super high in demand. They'll either be sold out or doubled in price.
