I haven’t been back to the motherland in 2 years, but before that it was 2015 that I was last living there. Korea has changed a lot in these last few years and obviously the world has changed a lot bc of COVID and whatnot - but I was truly surprised at the coldness I experienced until I spoke Korean and then they were suddenly much warmer and friendlier to me. Honestly 10 years back this might have been reversed where salespeople were friendlier to foreigners because it was less common. What do you think?
