If you look at the patches of a quilt, sometimes you can struggle to see how they'll all fit together. But then when that thread starts to weave all of the patches together, when the quilt is done, it just goes together. And that is the Bible. The Bible is a bunch of different stories, different people. It's teaching us different things, but Jesus is the thread that weaves all of the stories in the Bible together. My name's Emily, and I fell in love with Jesus at 21 years old, and I also fell in love with the Bible at 21 years old. But the problem with that was I'd never read the Bible a day in my life before. And so when I opened up the Bible, it was very hard to understand. And then when I just started to read the scriptures, the scriptures really began to come alive to me. And God put a lot of really great women of God and mentors in my life to help me understand scripture. And so that's my heart now. I want to help make the word of God understandable and approachable. So when Mr. Pen approached me with the opportunity to write a year-long Bible study, in my heart, I just was immediately so excited because this is my dream and this is what I want to do. The Jesus Thread is a 52-week guided Bible study where we are going to take you through the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation to help you see Jesus through it all. I wrote this study with the people in mind who have tried before, but they gave up. They just didn't feel like they could do it. This study, this framework is very easy to follow. Every day I put in three very practical application questions for you. So not only are you learning the Bible throughout doing the Jesus Thread, but every day you're pulling out at least three things that you can take from what you've read that day and apply it to your life. So by the time you're done with the Jesus Thread, you can take a step back and you can see, okay, I see all of these different pieces of the story of the Bible, and then I see also that Jesus was the thread that wove them all together. You are going to walk away from this study not only understanding the word of God, but you're going to have a deeper love for Jesus. You're going to have a deeper understanding for his sacrifice, and I feel like you're going to walk away from this study with a deeper sense of power and boldness to go out there in confidence in who you are as a son or a daughter of God. And so, if you're on the fence, take the leap because it'll be the best leap of faith that you've ever taken. My biggest prayer for the Jesus Thread is that one, people will see Jesus, but two, people will be so excited to open up and to read the word of God. Like they will be just so excited because they understand it. My heart is to help make scripture understandable and life-giving and approachable. And so that's what I hope to do through the Jesus Thread, and that's what I hope people take away from it. I hope they see Jesus, I hope they get excited to read scripture, and I hope they feel confident in their ability to read and understand and apply the word of God.
