The iconic Home Alone house looks completely different today compared to when Kevin McCallister was left behind in 1990. 🎄🏡 Located in Winnetka, Illinois, the famous property became one of the most recognisable homes in movie history, remembered for its warm Christmas atmosphere, patterned wallpaper, rich red carpets and grand staircase. More than three decades later, the house has undergone a dramatic transformation. The once colourful interiors have been replaced with bright white walls, elegant hardwood flooring, contemporary furnishings and a much more minimalist design. Interestingly, many of the film’s most memorable interior scenes were actually shot on specially constructed sets rather than inside the real house. Although the exterior still looks remarkably familiar, the interior has changed so much that it barely resembles the home millions grew up watching every Christmas.
