I'm leaving Big Law next week, no mas. I have been a corporate lawyer for the past 7 years since I moved to the United States from Russia from a medium-sized town with approximately 1.5 million residents, called Yekaterinburg. In Russia I earned my J.D. and was one of the youngest government officials there doing investment projects youth policy. I received a grant to study in the U.S. That was my dream. I moved to Los Angeles and studied law at the University of Southern California. After graduation, I worked for a federal judge, two startups and finally Cooley LLP, a big law firm famous for venture and tech work. Last year, I lost my dad and grandad unexpectedly. It made me realize that time is limited. I need to dream and act beyond limitations. This year I'm going full out and taking the step.
