30 years old, back in school, and making it happen. First-gen Mexican, breaking barriers one step at a time.

Last year, at 30 years old, I made the decision to go back to school. I didn’t know how I’d manage it—enrolling full-time while working 50 hours a week on a rotating shift. But now, I’m so glad I took the leap. Just one more year, and I’ll be the first in my family—14 aunts and uncles and a bunch of cousins—to earn a bachelor's in Computer Science. I’m not just doing this for myself; I’m doing it for my family and my younger cousins to show them it can be done. Hopefully, my journey inspires them.
