Black light. So someone said, why can't we create black light? And before I go into the nerdiness of it all, I'm just going to show a quick little demonstration. In my hand right now is white light, or well, more like a yellowish light, but you get the idea. If I turn that off to create black light, oh wait, it doesn't exist because black light is just darkness. And on top of that, I opened up the comments to read a comment from someone who somehow passed natural selection that said if we can create artificial light, why can't we create artificial dark? Didn't think I would be explaining this today, but here we go. All visible light and therefore every single color fall onto an energetic spectrum. And the sun, or what we would consider natural light, also falls on this spectrum. Now let's take a moment to look at what color isn't on this spectrum. That's right, black, because by its literal definition, black is the absence of or complete absorption of all light, and therefore all energy. So therefore, you cannot create a light or energy of something that is literally defined as the absence of light or energy. It's like if you tried to say, man, I wish we had hot ice. It's just not physically possible.
