YouTube founder interviewed after selling to Google for $1.65 billion

You are the founder of YouTube. How did that happen? Well, we registered as a domain. We built a website and then we told people to upload videos. It's a three-step process, really easy. Did you ever expect it to be the phenomenon that it is now? You can never expect that. I mean, we had our master plan on the whiteboard and we projected some growth, but something that maybe top out around 30 million views a day. And at that time, that was a lot of video for us, but now serving well over a billion, um, seems quite small. What is next for YouTube? It's really just about doing the basics much better. So helping people find videos more easily and better quality. Because we've continued to receive more videos than we can, um, helping people watch those videos more easily and better quality.
