Hey Eric. Yeah. What's an API key? An API key? Yeah. In like simplest terms. That's kind of like a password for interfacing. If you have a program that's calling out to somebody's API like Stripe to collect payments, they're gonna give you a key and you're gonna put that in your program and you're gonna use that to interact with the service. But it's kind of like a password and a big mistake beginners make is they put that in their code and then committed to GitHub or something like that and now it's out there, anybody can grab your key and they can pretend to be you using Stripe or your other billing services. So you use API keys to connect to them, but you should always protect them and never put them in your code or you're gonna have a problem.
