Computer science is the most cooked degree? The computer science job market is cooked. Computer science is the most cooked degree. I hear this all the time. I'm going to explain why that's a terrible take. If you don't know me, I have my bachelor's degree in computer science and I've been working professionally as a software engineer for five years. The market nor the degree is cooked. But since so many people operated under the lie that computer science was a easy route to becoming a six figure software engineer by basing how the job market should look from how it looked from late 2020 to early 2023. But what about AI? Yeah, a lot of y'all are cooked because of AI, but not because AI is going to replace our jobs. It's because you don't know how to do anything without using AI, because you're using AI to cheat through your degree thinking you're being smart. For people who are truly interested in computer science and the career paths that computer science offer, like software engineering, which is a job where the science is applied and you're willing to actually put the work in, then you'll be good. But if you're somebody only interested in computer science because you think it's an easy way to making money and you're using AI as your crutch, then yes, you are a cooked.
