Getting My CS Degree Cooked Me

Getting my computer science degree was the worst decision of my life. It's something I'm never ever gonna say and I'm gonna tell you why. Now, if you don't live under a rock, you've definitely seen a whole bunch of stuff on TikTok about people not being able to find jobs, the market being cooked, AI taking everyone's software engineering jobs. And yes, things are definitely changing, but I do think that computer science is an industry that's gonna have a lot more opportunities in the next 20, 30 years. So this whole idea of, oh, you shouldn't get a technology degree because AI is gonna take your job. I don't agree with it at all because there's so many different areas of tech. In fact, there's like probably over 50 different areas of tech you can get into. You don't have to be confined to just software engineering. I mean, you have cars, the internet was the big thing around 20 years ago that completely changed the market. It's the same cycle. A lot of people hired web developers or programmers and they realized they didn't need them anymore, they got laid off. And we can even talk about e-commerce as well. It's just a cycle that repeats in the long run. And I think that this is just the market doing what the market does. I should say just coding not SWE, SWE are always going to be valuable #computerscience #cs
