Incredible stream of consciousness. Thanks for sharing. Can we meet Dylan? He sounds like an amazing friend! Despite your losses, your life sounds very full.
And.
This is my best friend
After my husband died while I was pregnant he showed up
I was really exhausted
So he decided to move from Hawaii to Seattle
So he did
He changed diapers & made bottles
He showed up
And together we grieved and healed
JUN 14, 2017
And together we grieved and healed
Family, it turns out, is fluid
who you spend it with

Replying to @brianlittle_ this is Dylan. The first couple pictures include my husband who died in 2016, while I was 7 months pregnant. Dylan moved from Hawaii to Seattle after I had the baby, and he showed up for all of us in a way we we needed and couldn’t have ever expected. All three of the kids have always loved him as an uncle but he’s so much more to them and me. We work together, support each other, the kids, and have woven a life together that is both unconventional and perfect. If I had any message to share it’s to build a life with friends that are as important as lovers, and let friends be included in the loves of our lives. Believe in an unfolding that is more beautiful than you had hoped, even if it is one that you could have never predicted. It’s possible that magic happens after even the most tragic.
