Being right wing is easy because it requires no thinking skills. Speaking as a young man who as a younger man fell pretty hard down the alt-right pipeline and had to claw myself back out with the help of friends, loved ones, mentorship, and education. I cannot stress how easy it is to be right wing. You do not have to use your brain or critical thinking skills for a second. It is the most comfortable ideology to have. I distinctly remember it. I distinctly remember how comfortable it was to be able to blame everything that was wrong in my life on a group of people that had nothing to do with me that I didn't know. Your life is so comfortable and feels you feel so good about yourself when everything else going wrong in the world is the fault of radical feminists, black people, ethnic minorities, other ethnic minorities, trans people, etc. It is so, so easy. It is so comfortable. You're doing politics on easy mode. Don't get me wrong, all of your talking points, your whole mindset is based on misinformation and prejudice, but it's so comfortable. That is why it appeals to so many people, especially those who do not have a huge amount of education. It is an easy, baby's first way to understand the world because all it is is just blaming other people for everything that's gone wrong in your life. You can't get a job, it's not because you don't have the qualifications or because you weren't what they were looking for, it's because an immigrant stole that job from you. If you tell an offensive joke and no one laughs, it's because the woke left and the feminists have taken over. You can't get a girlfriend, it's now because women are universally man-hating, blue hair dyed, whatever, whatever. You get the idea. It is such a bubble. It is such a little safe space to be a right winger. I remember it so well. I remember thinking I had the answers for everything. I was about 15 or 16 and it was the biggest loser period of my life, and I've had a lot of loser periods compared to actually understanding that the world is complicated and that you do need to take a bit of personal accountability for the things that you say and the way that you think and you actually need to think about why people think the way that they think. I get it. Compared to that, it's a super easy, it's a paradise planet. You don't need to engage your brain. That's why it's so addictive, that's why it attracts so many people. If you're scared, an easy answer is wonderful, but it's not actually going to help. Follow for more.
