It's not ethical to celebrate Owen Harris's death, and let me explain why. For those of you who don't know, Owen Harris was a 14 year old kid who recently died regarding an e-bike accident. The reason why he's getting so much hate online right now is because his TikTok account was found reposting racist and controversial TikToks. Now, did Owen have it coming? Probably. Red lights are red lights. There's no debating that. It's a law. If you break it, you'll probably suffer the consequences. But does that mean that his death should be publicly celebrated? Definitely not. Were his reposts ignorant and stupid? Yes. But ask yourself this: did Owen actually do anything that was tangibly harmful? No. I've started to notice a pattern in the Owen haters and it's that they're pretty young people. I was 14 once too. When I was 14, I thought I was the smartest person in the room and I knew everything. And now that I look back upon it, I was so stupid and idiotic. I thought that I was mature, but turns out I really wasn't at all. If you're above the age of 14 and you don't think you've changed, then you really need to reflect upon yourself. If we look at the situation objectively, Owen was just a stupid and ignorant 14 year old kid who probably didn't know anything about the world. He wasn't a rapist, he wasn't a murderer. That's it. But tell me, what do you think?
