Day 1 of our trip to El Salvador is a travel day. We rented a minivan for all seven of us to get to SFO to fly out. If you're new here, my name's Kelsey, I'm a mom of three and my husband is from El Salvador. This is our second time taking the kids to El Salvador and we're so excited to go back. Here is my youngest on the plane. He is under two and sitting on our laps and very hard to entertain. Finally, we're ready to land and we are so relieved. We landed at night, I think it's around 8:30 p.m. There we are for the photo op when you get off the plane. We immediately went through customs. You do not have to pay the $12 to get into the country anymore and we went to go get our rental car. We rented our car online before the trip. It was really easy to pick it up right here. We got ours through Budget. There's my husband picking it up. Then we made the quick walk to our rental car. Now it was quicker last time, but because of the construction we had to walk all the way around, partially on the side of the road, which was a little sketchy at night, but everything worked out for us. All together getting off the plane and getting the car took about an hour. Once we got our vehicle, we decided the first night we were going to stay very close to the airport and not make it hard on ourselves. So we stayed at Quality Hotel. It was about a seven-minute drive from the airport, which was perfect because my toddler was already knocked out at this point. Right when we pulled up, there was a security guard there and you did have to state your name so that way they knew that you actually had a booking to go in. This was just a one-night stop for us since it was so late when we got in from the airport. We did not want to travel far. It was the perfect distance from the airport and it was so nice and clean. Here is the lobby when you walk in. That's the check-in desk. It was really brightly lit and I love that they still had some stuff open. This was the ice cream shop and coffee. Another thing that I noticed is that on this side they have the rental cars, so you can rent your car here or drop it off, I think. I didn't actually go there, there was no one there, but I thought that was really convenient. Walking down this hallway, right here to the left, there is a bar with pool tables and you can order food. There was also a restaurant out those doors, but it was closed by the time we got there. You could order food though from the bar, which is what we did that night. Going back that way past the check-in desk, there's just starts the hotel rooms. And this hotel was so nice, smelled so clean, definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere close to stay right next to the airport. There's the pool out there and across the pool is where we stayed in our room. I forgot to take a video of our room, but here's a picture of the exact room we stayed in. It was just two beds. The next morning we woke up to go to breakfast and it was just beautiful. This is the area where the pool is. They had picnic tables, barbecue, the pool was really nice temperature. It was already very hot by the time we woke up. My kids immediately wanted to go swimming. We went right after breakfast and I'll make a whole video on that. But just look at how stunning this area is to hang out in. It was I just loved it. 10 out of 10 for this hotel and that was our first travel day. Make sure you guys follow along. I'm going to be posting every day of our 10-day trip.
