Let me show you my favorite hotel in South Lake Tahoe as a family of 5. This is Hilton Vacation Club Lake Tahoe Resort South. Having a family of 5, sometimes hotel rooms can feel quite crowded, which is why I love this hotel because I never felt that way here. Right when you walk in is a big dining area, big enough for all 5 of us to sit at comfortably and have our meals. Over on this side is the living room. That couch is a pull-out couch, that's where my two older kids are staying this weekend. They have a nice TV and fireplace, and right out this door they have a little balcony that you can go and hang out on. Right across the parking lot right there is a walking path. Right over here is the kitchen. Now, eating out is so expensive as a family of 5 that I like to cook a lot of meals when we're on vacation and getting a kitchen is high priority. It has a big stove, has a sink and a dishwasher, has a pretty good size fridge and freezer. Being able to cook stuff during the week that we're staying here without having to go out for every meal is so helpful to me. Right down this hallway is the bedroom. Left right there is the bathroom. But in here there is a pretty good amount of room. I think this is a king-size bed, and it has storage over here. It's not a lot of storage, but it was enough for us. So, yeah, pretty good size, not a huge amount of space, but decent. There is a flat-screen TV in here and a dresser. Right over here I plan on setting up my toddler's pack and play, there it is right there, and they have a window for some fresh air, which I appreciate. This hotel has an indoor-outdoor pool and two hot tubs. Now, the pool didn't feel that warm, but it was really hot, so it didn't really matter. My favorite thing about the hotel though is this grass area. Every evening my kids would beg to come out here and run around. There's my youngest. They have a lot of barbecue pits, a lot of families out here, they have ping pong, cornhole, and then this big grass area. Here are the barbecue pits and they had plenty of seating. My kids loved this area. If you go over here inside, they have this little seating area and past the stairs they have a bar with a really good happy hour. When you head up the stairs they have like a game area. They have two pool tables, which my daughter loves pool for some reason, she's obsessed. We did come up here quite frequently. They have a fireplace and this little seating area and they have, I can't remember what this game is called, but they loved it. Now, the restaurant was closed at this particular moment, but they do have a restaurant on site. Let me show you how close the beach is. It's a 4-minute walk from the hotel. So there's the hotel, here's the parking lot, and right there are some shops and places to eat, and then right over here is the way to the beach. As you can see, everything is really close to this hotel and we just love staying here. It's roomy, we save money with the kitchen, and I highly recommend it.
