If you're an Indian opening a business in Korea

I don't like making negative videos, but I feel I had to say this. I'm a busy founder, so I rarely go out. I was visiting Seoul, so why not hit up a bar with my close friend. The bouncer asked for my friend's ID like normal, and then he asked me for my ID, but then he checked the front cover more than the inside of the page on confirming it was two Indian people. He didn't let us go in. Then he proceeded to ignore us and let the casually dressed white guy go in. At that moment, it didn't matter if I was a startup founder who raised 400K, if I had a 1580 on my SAT, if I had the highest IB score in the world, or if my friend was writing novel research papers at a top university here, graduated with honors from an American university. For just being Indian, we were denied entry. I'm not at all making this to hate on Korean people. I just wanted to point out an incident. 99.99% of the people here have been wonderful. They have been really great. But of course, interactions like this are gonna make me think what do people really underneath the surface. If I really wanna be close with someone, if I ever date someone here, what will their parents think about me? What do they talk in private? What gossip do they say about us? And yeah, sure, our country right now isn't the best. It's pretty dirty actually. But history constantly changes. India used to be the world's top country for millennia. So many Silicon Valley founders are Indians. So many of the great apps you use have a lot of Indian engineers behind them. Everyday people in Korea might not be like this. It might just be the elitists. If I'm a startup founder looking to expand my business, and I know the elites in Korea slightly this way towards Indian people, I'm probably not gonna do it in the future. So just cause of an incident like this, a unicorn founder in the future might not expand here, but go to Tokyo instead!
