Two Polish engineers just built the most realistic AI voice in the world. Three years later they hit $330 million in annual revenue and both became billionaires by age 30. So here is how they did it. Meet Mati and Piotr. Mati studied at Imperial College London and then worked at Palantir, one of the most elite AI companies in the world. Piotr is described by Mati as the smartest person he knows, beating Google and Microsoft in benchmark tests. These two had known each other for 15 years and shared the same vision: give machines a voice as natural as a human. Not just accurate, but natural, emotional, and real. So in 2022 they founded ElevenLabs with just $100,000. No VCs and no Silicon Valley hype. Just two engineers in London solving the hardest problem in voice AI. They knew they couldn't brute force it, so they had to be smarter. January 2023 they launched their text to speech AI. While competitors were chasing accuracy, ElevenLabs nailed something harder: emotion. Their voices had inflection, natural pauses, and laughter. It sounded completely human. And then the absolutely exponential growth hit. 20 months to hit $100 million annual revenue, 10 months to hit $200 million, and only 5 months to hit $330 million dollars in annual recurring revenue. January 12th 2026, literally this week, Mati announced they crossed $330 million annual revenue and the company is now worth $6.6 billion with 350 employees.
