Today I'm at the show you exactly how I make money by spending money at places like Marshalls. Got a little bobo, got a podcast playing. I just have a good feeling for today that we're going to find some really good finds. Today our budget's going to be around $500. So the first thing I'm always going to look for is I want to find an item that there's a bunch of them selling. So for example, here's all these Guru Nanda whitening strips. These two apps are pretty much the only you're going to need when you're shopping in person, Keepa and SellerAmp. We're going to start with the SellerAmp app. Then you're going to go to the actual barcode, not the Marshalls barcode obviously. And then once you have SellerAmp pulled up, you're going to click on the barcode scanner. It automatically is going to show you if you're eligible to sell this item. These two alerts right here, this means there's a private label and then V is for variations. Variations is what we want to be careful of. This probably just means that there's the 14 pack option, the 32 pack option, etc. BSR, this is the best sellers rank. And typically the closer this number is to zero, the better. That means the faster it's selling. I like to sell anywhere below 150,000. This is obviously a top top product here. 20,000 plus per month estimated sales. This you want to be careful of when there's a variation on the alerts because we don't know if all 20,000 are coming from the 32 pack, the 14 pack. It's going to automatically populate the sale price. So this is the price that it's currently being sold for on Amazon. This is the current buy box price, which is the fancy way of saying when someone clicks add to cart. Max cost, this is where you're always going to look to see what do I need to find this item for in order to be profitable. You should already have your SellerAmp settings set up so that it shows you the ROI that you would want. For me, I have my SellerAmp customized so that I make at least $3 in profit. I want an ROI between 30 and 35%. So the cost on this for example is $16.99. Not going to be a good find because it says max cost $9.75. So this is obviously something I would not purchase because it's literally a negative ROI. Keep in mind, this is like a really good piece of advice that has always stuck with me. You yourself are also a consumer. So if you're doing retail arbitrage and shopping in person, you can kind of see things that you think might be selling well on Amazon. Like I'm not going to pick up this brand of hand soap that I've never heard of before. I'm probably more likely to pick up something like this that we all know and is a household name brand. I said this in the last video and I'll say it again. What is in the air at TJ Maxx? I feel like I need to go to the bathroom so bad. Do we use this bathroom or do we just head home? You know anything about a Marshalls or TJ Maxx bathroom? No bueno. No bueno. We're going to need to tough it out, find at least one or two more flips. Everyone was asking, how are you doing retail and not online sourcing? Because Amazon doesn't accept receipts if you're trying to sell a product that is gated for you or you're not approved to sell that item. So after I filmed that video, I ended up having to return pretty much all that stuff. But then I learned from another Amazon seller, you can actually submit receipts and Amazon will accept them. You just have to try several times. Sometimes two, three, four times. You have to just keep in mind, it's a human that's viewing all these approval requests. So even if you get denied a couple times, just keep submitting and submitting. See if that gets me anywhere. But I've heard that from one or two Amazon sellers at this point. There's all these Fenty Hair products here and they're selling for 13. Went ahead and searched it here. I like the BSR, the sales per month is great. Always want to look at the alerts and see is Amazon ever on the listing? We don't want Amazon to be on the listing because when Amazon's on the listing, that means you're basically sharing competition with them for winning the buy box, which is just a fancy way of saying when someone clicks add to cart. Is it your item that's going to be sold to them? So Amazon's not on the buy box, which is great. We need to find it at maximum $11 to make 30% ROI. Selling here for 13. I don't want to spend $13 just for me to make $1.80. So you're still making a return on your investment, yes, but this is not something I would buy for example, even with all of this looking good. Another thing you want to check on your listings is you want to go down and look at who is offering. As you can see, there's a lot of FBA sellers. The one that's highlighted in bold here is the one that's dominating the buy box. This person selling it for almost 25 bucks here. The stock isn't very high on them, so that's why I was excited about it because I could get at least 10 here and try to get approval to sell the Fenty brand, which would also be really good. Then you're always going to want to look down at this chart section and check out the buy box activity, which is this bright pink line to see how the actual price of the item has been fluctuating over time on Amazon. If anything, we want this to obviously be going up, right? I always keep it at a three month view and then we want the offer count to either be steady or declining. Offer count has recently been going up. That's what this purple line is here. So that's not my favorite thing ever. Review count is fine, that one's been going up, so we like that. And now obviously with more sellers coming in, that means there's going to be higher competition. Always look down here as well to rank some prices. Average 90 days and I like to see the lowest that this item has been selling for over the last 90 days. So let's say we were able to find this item profitably and we do want to buy it, you would open Keepa right after that and you're going to scan. Once you have it opened up, I would change it to a three month view. I like to have mine so that I'm looking at one thing at a time because otherwise this just gets really intimidating. So first thing I'm going to look at is the buy box. Buy box has been steady, if anything it's been increasing a bit, but it's pretty much staying between that $25 to $30 price range. Then I'm going to go ahead and look at the sales rank. And sales rank, remember we want that trending towards zero or staying steady. So it looks like it's been staying relatively steady between that 75 to 100,000 mark here. So good BSR ranking. Okay guys, I think we finally hit the jackpot and this is why it's so important to have Keepa and not just SellerAmp when you're sourcing. So let me show you what I mean. Go to pt.2 to see what we found.
