Here's the 2 year journey to creating and finding the for us. I was selling my business. in Texas wasn't for us. First step, where do we want to live? Visit a bunch of cities, research even spreadsheets. We chose Raleigh, NC. Next question, where in Raleigh? Found a lot, found a builder, found a home designer. First design, live sketches, rough layout. CAD. add a room, grow this, shrink that. Wouldn't it be 9 months of this. Late in the game, we explore cheaper layouts. We don't love them, so we stick with the grand vision. At the same time, we hire an interior designer. First concept, Second round, nailed it. Interior elevations, pool dig. with the builder. The house wouldn't have been perfect either way. I'm just extremely detail-oriented. I can spot not straight from across the house. Retaining wall, paint, built-ins, flooring, tile, light fixtures, walls, gates, garage doors, home automation, solar panels, fine details. Furnishings installed, TVs mounted, internet on. Move in day. We hire an army of packers, and unpackers, movers, and unpackers. Orientation, learn how everything works, and enjoy! Just 2 years. My wife and I love this stuff, but it's not for the faint of heart. Decision fatigue is real. Now it's time to enjoy it. Follow for more!
