Hot take: we need to get off GitHub. Not git. GitHub. It's owned by microslop, which should already tell you everything. And just like Windows, Copilot is being shoved down our throats. And the uptime. Oh, the uptime. My home server has better uptime than GitHub. So what is to be done? I suggest we start putting in our effort to support better alternatives. For most of you, the least friction is gonna be migrating to GitLab. It's free and open source, and although it does have AI features, it's not shoving it down your throat like GitHub. You could also self host your own GitLab instance. Although, if you are going to self host, I highly suggest looking at Gitea or what I'm currently using, Forgejo. So, what do you guys think?
