this is a step by step tutorial on how to install Claude Code in terminal, on the web or in your IDE. Claude Code Summer School, welcome to day 3. Welcome to day 2 of Claude Code Summer School. Let's start with terminal on your Mac OS. You can copy and paste this in your terminal. For those who's familiar with homebrew, you can install with homebrew, but it doesn't have an auto update capabilities. You need to go to your project directory by writing CD and the location of the folder, drag and drop like this. Then write Claude. On Visual Studio Code and Jetbrains IDE, you can start by opening up your extension panel or Jetbrains Marketplace and search for Claude Code. Then install the extension by Anthropic. Then restart your IDE and click on this and start using. On desktop, first you need to install and sign into Claude Desktop. Then you can. Finally web. On the web, you can access by going to claude.ai/code. This works similar to desktop app, but on the web, you can't really work locally, but restricted to Github repositories. Now that I've laid out all the options on how to install them, here's when to use what. But that's all for today's class and I will send you notes on when to use which Claude Code setup.
