Before I explain why, I want to tell you a little story... MiniijoyCo. miniijoyco.com 43,330 Total subscribers Notes When I first started YouTube, I had no intention of making it a crucial part of my business. I simply wanted to document my small business journey for myself to look back on one day. It was actually Kayla (owner of @from_kayla) who encouraged me to start. Now, after 2 years and nearly 200 videos later, we've grown into a community of more than 43,000 people. Even saying that out loud feels surreal. You have genuinely changed my life 🥺 Notes From setting up my first retail store, to launching my first lifestyle products. From receiving my first PR package, to collaborating with brands I've admired for years. From turning my bedroom into my dream studio - not once, but twice. You guys have seen it all! Reading messages about how my content inspired you, encouraged you to start your own business, or simply brought you comfort on a difficult day has meant more to me than I can ever properly express. Many other small business owners will probably understand exactly what I mean. There is always something that needs to be done, and sometimes it feels like the work never truly ends. For me, that often meant staying up late editing videos after everyone else had gone to sleep. Something about working at night has always felt so peaceful, and I genuinely enjoyed the process. But over time, those habits began taking a toll on my health. I was constantly exhausted, struggled to maintain a healthy sleep schedule, and began experiencing physical symptoms of burnout 😩. Notes Despite all of that, I still loved what I was building. I loved documenting my journey. I loved creative outlet that allowed me to share both the highs and lows of running a small business. Which is why the possible termination of my channel has affected me so deeply. My+worst market ASMR PACKING orders no talking no bgm Notes On May 27th, I received two notifications from YouTube informing me that multiple videos had been removed as the result of copyright claims submitted on behalf of Sanrio Company Ltd. Those removals resulted in two copyright strikes being issued against my channel. Naturally alarmed, I immediately began reviewing my content and unlisted additional videos that I thought might potentially raise concerns. However, roughly a week later, I received four more notifications informing me that additional videos had been removed, resulting in four more copyright strikes. Contact info: sanrio.ipbp@gmail.com Channel violations Active copyright strikes Notes If you've followed me for a while, you may know that during the early years of my business, I sold Sanrio fan-art products. At the time, I was a much smaller creator and honestly didn't fully understand the long-term risks associated with creating fan-art products, especially in creative spaces where this is commonly seen. Looking back, I can see that there are things I would have done differently. As Miniijoyco grew, I gradually realized that I wanted to move away from fan-art and focus on building something that was truly my own. Not only to better protect my business, but to create a brand centered around my own creativity and artistic vision. That decision ultimately led to the goodbye sale I hosted in 2025. Since then, I've worked hard to focus on creating original products and artwork, and I'm incredibly proud that many of those designs have gone on to become some of my bestselling products. While the transition felt scary at the time, it ultimately gave me a lot confidence in the future of my business. However, although I stopped selling fan-art products, many of my older YouTube videos still featured products from that chapter of my business, particularly packing videos from 2024 and early 2025. ASMR PACKING orders Notes Nearly a year after moving away from fan-art, I suddenly received six copyright strikes within the span of a week. What has made this situation especially difficult is how quickly everything unfolded. For those of you who know, I had just returned from vacation a few weeks ago. Trevi Fountain Normal night #2 Notes Beyond the takedown notifications themselves, I did not receive any direct communication beforehand that would have allowed me to remove specific videos before the strikes were issued. Had I been contacted and asked to remove particular videos, I would have done so immediately. As I reviewed the claims, I also noticed details that raised questions for me regarding the claimant information that was provided. Because of that, I have spent the past few days reaching out to both YouTube and the claimant in an attempt to better understand the situation and explore possible solutions. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, I have not been able to obtain the clarity needed to resolve the situation before my channel's scheduled termination date. Notes This experience has been incredibly frustrating, emotionally draining, and honestly heartbreaking...💔 At the same time, I understand that intellectual property rights are important, and this experience has reinforced my commitment to continuing to build Miniijoyco. around original artwork and original creations moving forward. Whether people agree with me or not, I wanted to be transparent about what has happened and share my side of the story. Because of this situation, I have also made the decision to retire the remaining fan-art products currently in my shop. Notes While these products represent an important chapter of my business journey, I no longer feel comfortable continuing to carry products that could potentially put the future of my business at risk. I've included a list of retiring products at the end of this post. They will remain available until June 19th, one week after my washi tape launch, after which they will be permanently discontinued. As for YouTube, I currently have no plans to start a new channel. Given the circumstances, I don't want to risk creating additional issues by immediately attempting to rebuild elsewhere on the platform. Notes However, this is not the end of Miniijoyco. I will continue sharing my journey on Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and through my email community. I'm also exploring the possibility of sharing future long-form content through Patreon, although I'm still working through what that might look like. The community we've built extends far beyond a single platform, and no matter what happens tomorrow, that is something I will always be grateful for.
