He's talking about clipping, which is a real side hustle. And there's two ways you make money through it. One is you have a monetized channel. Could be YouTube, could be TikTok, but you're getting paid per 1,000 views. Now there's a bit of a risk here, because usually clipping entails you're using clips of things you don't own. Now there is a grey area where if you manipulate the clip enough to make it yours, you're in a safe zone. But half the time these clippers do not do that. They just purely rip the podcast and there's always a chance you get demonetized. Second is a clipping marketplace. I'm not going to name any here because I've never found one I trust, but creators go there and say, please clip my long-form, I'll pay you per 1,000 views. And you can do that without a monetized channel and just post clips of them and per 1,000 views, these creators will pay you like one or two dollars. So to make that kind of money, either way, you're going to have to really have something go viral, which isn't impossible, but it's not nearly as frequent as these guys lead you to believe.
