Brown guys across the world come in all different shapes and sizes. But the one thing that unites us is a ridiculous obsession with Drake. Just ask anyone to show you their Spotify wrapped and I promise you it will look like this. That has always made sense to me. I mean, we're talking about a guy that grew up in the suburbs, raised middle class, used to drive an Acura, likes to act tough, loves the NBA, loves sports betting, borrows vernacular from other cultures, has a house in Houston AND Toronto, is overdependent on his mother, has a complicated relationship with his father. Drake because if without using his name or professional achievements, we would think you're describing us. Because, just like Drake, we have delusional egos. I believe Drake knows that. He's not representing some communities unique lived experience. He's relaying other communities to his community, which is just regular dudes. Drake is not optimizing for cultural viability. He's optimizing for commercial viability, which is the same thing brown people do the millionth hala hot chicken spot in Houston. He's a businessman first, artist second, and I think he's successful because he just figured out how to make those two things synergistic.
