There is a difference. And it will cost you deeply. Let me tell you. I spent 20 years in corporate America, large Fortune 500 companies. And unfortunately, I learned the hard way. And that's why I'm giving this as a cautionary tale. All you have is people who are not as good as you. And they look at you as a threat. If you're great at what you do, if you get things done, and worst of all, if you care about the company, you're a target. You're a target to mediocre people who cannot have you around because as long as you're there, they cannot advance in the company. They cannot beat you. So the best thing to do is to become what I call a corporate assassin, corporate fluffer, right in your slipstream. Try to surround themselves with you. But when the moment comes, they can throw you under the bus, or they can somehow set you up to get you laid off or terminated or fired. They're gonna do it. And you'll realize this when you leave, like I did. I got a couple texts here and there, you know, for years. But after a couple weeks, you know, you no longer talk to these people again. Nobody is your friend in corporate America. Now, there's an exception, right? If you work for a small startup or small company or a law firm or family dental practice, whatever. Sure, there could be good culture there. But I'm talking about people that work for large companies. You're gonna get got. And I wrote a book on this. The Corporate Coward. It's available on Amazon. And it's something you have to learn so you don't lose yourself and you still learn how to navigate this new landscape because corporate America is just run by cowards, by backstabbers, by mediocre people. They can't do anything else other than work for this company. If you're good and passionate and get things done, there are other opportunities. You could start your own business. You could do other things. And the sooner you learn this, the sooner you learn how to build what I call a freedom floor. Start working on a side hustle. Maybe it takes a year, two years, three years, four years. But when you get fed up with corporate America, or you just can't handle it anymore, or you get unfortunately got, you're already set up and then you just go full-time in your business. And this is something again, if you are a hard-working, high-integrity, honorable person that can persevere through things, you are the biggest target in the world to mediocre people.
