"Can you be friends with people at work?" Hot take

Hot take but I do not believe you should be friends with people at work. For example, I don't follow any of my employees back, dude, because I'm like, dude, you don't want me as your boss in your personal life. What I've learned over time, all my closest relationships, we're deeply close as people, but we would never say that we're friends. Because the business and the results, the performance comes first. The times you make the worst decisions in business is when you put the personal or the emotional in front of what's best for the business. At the end of the day, we're all hired within a business to do a job. And the best leaders, the best CEOs, they make those rational decisions because they know they have a duty and a mission to serve above any personal.
