I'm a pre-med w/ a stacked CV. My CV is so stacked. People look at it and they're like, how on earth are you shadowing in different places? How are you getting your masters in bioethics from Hopkins and running events and mentoring students? How are you managing your time? And I'm like, listen, Linda, I have nine tips. Okay, I'll give them to you guys. First tip is one. I really suck. I really don't do all of these things really well. Actually, a lot of the times I suck. So like, it's not as perfect, beautiful, Lala land as you think to have a CV that looks like that, okay? Two, I play a lot of whack-a-mole and so do a lot of med students. I learned this from program directors and med students. They just get stuff that they can get done in the moment. Like, they're like, okay, do it, get it done, do it, get it done. And I was like, oh my god. Now, warning with that, the messages can get kind of crazy because they'll just come right back to you. So don't always do that with messages. Three, for my surgery scheduler days, I actually use calendars a lot. I learned how to do that when I was in ortho because we would schedule surgeries and I was like, okay, I'm going to schedule my days, my weekly, monthly calendars and I use the monthly calendars to like do my appointments and stuff like that. So I'll be like, okay, I have like tasks that I assign per day. Four, I go with the ebbs and flows of whatever is going on. Sometimes I need to do more of this thing, sometimes I need to do less of that thing. I communicate my availability to people. The best that I can. Sometimes I suck at that too. Five, I do extracurriculars that med students do because med students will just disappear because they need to do a bunch of stuff and people are like, leaning with them and they understand like, hey, it's stressful. So I do what I do and so like to stay back time. I do things that don't matter as much. I don't need to put my best foot forward. I just need to do something, do see work, do be work, just like get it done. When I do the dishes, it's not good. When I do laundry, sometimes it's like half folded sitting on a chair. Maybe only like three shirts are folded because I know those ones will get wrinkled. Eight, I ask myself, what is the number one task that I need to be doing right now? And that's the thing that I need to do. When I'm doing downtime with other things, I'll like throw in a few random things. I'll like stack things together. I'll be like, okay, I need to take this call, I'm going to do a couple other things while I'm on the call. Like that I can multitask. Nine, I use my Bloom card. I swear to God, I do not work for them. I have tried so many different devices. The Bloom card really helps me basically, you like lock your phone with it and then you can't use certain things that you've already preset. And then if I want breaks, I can do that. And I believe this card at my desk and I will lock it before I leave so I can't have any fun stuff to come back to. I give myself like three breaks in the morning and then like three breaks throughout the day. Yeah. I have this card and like almost all their competitors. I've tried all of them. And Bloom is my personal favorite to kind of like engineer my life to steal back time for myself. And I don't work for them. This is not a plug. I need to make a video about them because I want to talk about all the other things. But yeah, those are my nine things that I do.
