I've had the same makeup routine for decades and was stuck in a bit of a rut...
So I went and had my makeup done at Selfridges beauty concierge, here's how it went
Where should I put eyeshadow and what colour?
Should I use bronzer?
What colour blush and lip shades suit me?
Am I putting my blush in the right place?
I love a natural look but wanted to learn how to elevate my makeup for special events...I had so many questions
I booked an appointment online a few weeks before, it was super easy to find once you were in the store
Lots of options to choose from, and you can redeem again products in store
I booked this

Sat down and went through exactly what I wanted to get out of the session. I said I was looking for help with my base, and then an elevated eye look
Skin prep first. I learnt that you should use a serum or moisturiser if you're doing your makeup for a big event (like hen or wedding) because both might make your face a bit too shiny
I've never used a primer before so was really pleased to get a recommendation and see how it actually performed on my skin
Helps makeup stay on, and gives a smooth blurring effect
We started with eyes, she used this Charlotte Tilbury palette to give me some definition in the outer corners of my eyes, very lightly blending it in
This shade
This palette is called The Sophisticate
Then used Naked Lunch eyeshadow from Mac in the inner corners to make my eyes pop
A bit of liner to give my eyes some more definition. This is Trish McEvoy in Deep Aubergine
Then she used the Lisa Eldridge skin tint (forgot to take a picture) but I love how lightweight it felt on my skin, new Refy water bronzer, Westman Atelier blush, Giorgio Armani luminous silk concealer
Victoria Beckham Lipstick in "Sway"
And this was the final look! I love how it turned out. Super glowy, still natural but just a bit more elevated
I bought the skin products but wanted to see how it held first. I think I'm going to go back and get the eyeliner, eyeshadow palette and primer 💄
