It feels almost surreal to realize that a computer which, just 30–40 years ago, occupied several industrial rooms and was used mainly for engineering and scientific calculations now fits into each of our pockets. We hear this comparison often, yet it never becomes any less astonishing. It is in the field of information technology and silicon microchips that humanity has made one of its most rapid leaps over the past 50 years. We have reached a point where almost any answer can not only be found within seconds, but also structured by artificial intelligence. Every modern smartphone contains billions of transistors and has computational power that engineers of the past could only dream of. A device we use for communication, video streaming, or navigation surpasses the computers that once sent humans to the Moon. Our future is remarkable. The smartphones that feel ordinary today would have been true miracles even for people just twenty years ago, let alone further back in history. And perhaps in another twenty years, our descendants will look at today’s technologies with the same sense of wonder we now reserve for the earliest computers. #Tech #ai #future #edit#smartphone
