A completely unbiased, totally calm look at the current cost of living in Canada. 😂
Asparagus: should be $3. Was $11.
Matcha: should be $5. Was $9.
Rogers bill: should be $120. Is $300 (I called. It's still $300).
Eggs: should be $4. Were $8.49 (I can’t help but comment on it, the cashiers probably hate me).
Movie for two + one popcorn: should be $35. Was $67.
A haircut (just the cut): should be $100. Was $180.
Homemade avocado toast: should be $2. Was the cost of my dignity realizing I AM the meme.
Here's the thing, life is expensive right now. That's real and it's valid and nobody should dismiss it.
BUT we are also living in one of the greatest wealth-building periods in human history. The tools available to everyday Canadians — TFSAs, RRSPs, FHSAs, low-cost diversified ETFs — are more accessible and more powerful than they have ever been.
It may be harder to save right now. But it has never been more important to get financially educated so you can start managing your money right.
That's what The Money Club is for. Link in bio.
