So Anthropic wants to pay you to learn AI! What’s the catch, who’s eligible and is this a good idea for your career? As part of their new program called Claude Corps, they want to pay you $85,000 a year to learn how to use AI. So what the hell is the catch here? Is this a good program and what’s eligibility? Let’s talk about it. Anthropic believes that the benefits of transformative AI systems could come at the cost of significant disruption, which is why they’re committing $150 million as part of this program to make sure the benefits are fully realized and widely shared. I mean, you could argue this just could be a marketing narrative just before an IPO, but I think this could be one of the best opportunities of the year, anyone looking for a new job or a career change. So Claude Corps is a fellowship program where they will teach 1,000 fellows how to use Claude, then match them with nonprofit organizations for a period of 12 months, full time, in-person, helping their host organizations advance their missions with AI. In return, fellows will receive $85,000 in yearly salary with benefits, office hours with the Anthropic team to ask any technical questions, and expansive Claude token budgets, which they did not disclose. Now, anyone over 18 years of age, legally authorized to work in the United States is eligible to apply. You don’t need any degree or any previous working experience. The applications are currently open and will close on the 17th of July. Everyone right now is an AI consultant or wants to be, but having actual credentials through this program while delivering real change to real organizations is going to open up way too many doors in the future.
