Is your iPhone still indexing after upgrading to iOS 27?! Here’s how to check your progress and see how long until you’re done! A couple things here. I started this back when iOS 27 beta 1 was released. I uploaded it or updated that day, June 8th. That's how long my phone has been sitting as indexing and it's still going. We are more than a week later at this point. So I'm hoping this is finishing up pretty soon because I want to see how performance is when it's not indexing. To make this work, you need two things. You're gonna need your iPhone that you've updated to iOS 27 and you're gonna need a computer, you're gonna need a Mac that you're gonna plug your iPhone into. So the first thing you're gonna do is open up the console. It's literally just called console here. You're gonna open this up, you see I had stuff plugged in in the past, that's fine. Don't worry about it. Just open up console. It'll look just like that. Then I'm gonna take my iPhone 17 Pro over here, which has been indexing for quite some time. I'm gonna go ahead and plug it into my computer. You might get a pop-up asking if you want to allow to connect. Of course, allow. I'm gonna then go up to the menu, go to action and make sure include debug messages is turned on. You also want to make sure that your iPhone is selected from this dropdown menu here on the left, the devices menu. So I got my iPhone 17 Pro selected. I can then go and search and I'm gonna paste this into the search field. Spotlight indexing progress. That's what you want to put into the search field. Spotlight indexing progress. I can then go and hit start streaming. Your view is gonna refresh to look like this. And I'm gonna go grab my iPhone and what I want to do is go back here into settings where I have indexing in progress and this should start to refresh and update and show me my progress. So pipeline completeness, 49%. Are you kidding me? Day one beta update and we're still sitting at 49%? You're kidding me. Day one beta update and I've been sitting there. So it's fine. This is a beta. Apple did say that they were basically re-indexing your entire phone, tons of photos, tons of emails. I have never deleted my messages. Those are just on there forever. And I have a whole lot of emails. So it is going to take a while. Clearly, for this to finish indexing. While it is indexing, it could run slower, Siri, spotlight, all of that. Your AI is not going to be as good because your phone isn't entirely indexed. So give it some time. The best thing you can do is leave it plugged in as much as possible. While it is indexing and just wait for your judgment on performance until the fall, frankly. But at least during the beta phase until indexing is done. That's it. Let me know down below in the comments how is your indexing coming along? What percentage are you at so far and how long have you been sitting there? Let me know. Thank you to 95 Mac. I think they're the first ones to spot this. At least that's where I saw a pop-up. So kudos to them for finding this little hack. It's just really helpful to see how far we are along in this indexing process for iOS 27.
