Can you have different financial goals from your partner?? I’ll be honest, if you’re married with kids it’s a lot harder and there’s way more risk. However one partner might prefer working longer and the other partner might want to retire earlier! One partner may want to spend more fun money every month while the other partner decides not to. It can still totally work as long as you are aligned and understand the risk. As for us, we aren’t married (don’t plan to get married) and are child-free so having different financial goals works perfectly for us and there’s no risk of divorce and splitting assets 🤪 But honestly it has benefited both of us to be with someone who has different priorities. Over time I have loosened up and enjoyed life more, and he has gotten more serious about his finances and now invests more. We make each other better!!!
