I have seven years until I hit my work optional goal. These are my seven money hot takes. Buy now pay later is a no for me. Food delivery is overpriced. No Uber Eats, no DoorDash. Renting is not throwing money away. I'm so tired of that narrative. Your $6 latte is not the problem. My $6 latte is not the problem. Having an emergency fund is sexier than having a designer bag. I'd rather buy assets than impress strangers. I'd rather be rich than look rich. And avoidance is expensive. If you don't know where your money is going every month, you will never escape the rat race. Get on a budget, start tracking spending, set up investment accounts. Literally lock it in. I'm working to become work optional in the next seven years. Hot take doesn't matter to me.
