01
AI HABIT
Talk to it instead of typing.
Type and you keep it short, so the AI has less to work with. Talk and you naturally explain more — and that detail makes the answer better.
DO THIS
Tap the mic in ChatGPT or Claude and explain what you want out loud, like you're briefing a colleague. Then hit send.

02
AI HABIT
Give it all five parts of a prompt.
A strong prompt has five things. Miss one and the answer goes generic. Miss a few and it's useless.
Role
Context
Task
Constraints

DO THIS
Tell it who to be, the background, what you need, any limits on length or tone, and one example of what good looks like.

03
AI HABIT
Going wrong? Start a new chat.
Once a chat goes off track, correcting it again rarely works — it's still carrying off the earlier confusion. A fresh chat clears the slate.
DO THIS
Open a brand-new chat, paste in your best version of the prompt, and start clean instead of arguing with the old one.

04
AI HABIT
Ask it to check its own work.
The first answer is usually a rough draft. Ask it to review what it wrote and improve it, and the second version is almost always sharper.
DO THIS
After it answers, reply: "Review your answer, tell me what's weak, then rewrite it." Use the second version.

05
AI HABIT
Let it ask you first.
Most people hand over a task and hope. Let the AI ask questions first and it fills the gaps you didn't think to mention.
DO THIS
Before a big task, type: "Before you answer, what do you need to know from me to do this really well?" Then answer it.

06
AI HABIT
Save your best prompts.
When a prompt really works, most people lose it in the chat history and start from scratch. The ones getting results keep a little library.
DO THIS
Copy your best prompts into a notes app or a doc. Next time, paste and tweak instead of rewriting from nothing.

07
AI HABIT
Always check it before you send.
AI is brilliant at first drafts, but it gets facts, tone and details wrong more than you'd think. Anything reaching a real person needs your eyes first.
DO THIS
Let AI draft it, then read it properly, check the facts, fix the tone so it sounds like you — and only then send.
