You're probably confused on how or why AI drinks water. I work in IT, so here's how it actually works. When you force AI to do your homework against its will, you're not actually talking to a robot. You're really just talking to a computer inside a data center. And of course, a data center is basically just a room like this full of thousands of computers. Now, if you know anything about computers, you know that they can get really hot, especially if you're doing a large task. And if it gets too hot, your computer can literally catch on fire. Now imagine a building with thousands of computers in it. It's going to get hot in there. And they need a way to cool it down a little bit. So that's where the water comes in. They essentially use cold water to absorb the heat of the computers and then the hot water gets turned into water vapor, which is then released into the air. This is called evaporative cooling. And that's where the debate comes in because some people are like, well, wouldn't they evaporated water just go back into the clouds and rain back onto the earth? And technically the answer is yes, but the clouds move. So you're basically just taking water from one place and putting it in another. And that's bad because now this place doesn't have any water and this place has too much water. And if you watched one piece, you know what I'm talking about. So to put it simply, AI doesn't drink the water. The water doesn't just disappear off the face of the earth. The water is just getting displaced.
