I want you to take a moment and watch this six second video. This video was posted by Femi Otedola on X. And this was when he posted the video. He said, today on the Mediterranean, with one of our biggest clients, @asr_rabiu of BUA Group. He's the owner of BUA Group, aboard his yacht called the Raniya. Strengthening our partnerships and exploring new possibilities. And he signed with saying, Femi Otedola. Now, for those of you who don't know, I'm a Nigerian. And Femi Otedola, the richest men, Nigeria, but in Africa. Close to some of the wealthiest, like Dangote, like Rabiu and the rest. Now, what caught my interest is this last sentence. Strengthening our partnership and exploring new possibilities. You see, we live in a world where the rich are not comfortable just being rich. They want to increase their wealth by all means possible, at the expense of whatever possible. And willing to increase their wealth. On one side, I don't have a problem with it, because for some of them, they have created businesses that are solving problems. Over time, those businesses have grown into conglomerates. They are functioning in a system that reward them, irrespective of whether that value expense of the the middle class. The reason why is because if these wealthy men on a yacht are telling you to explore new possibilities, despite being some of the wealthiest, you then wonder, what possibilities do they want to explore? What new frontiers to open? That have accessed government contracts. They have received favors. If you and I start businesses in Nigeria and you don't have access to the kind of information, networks, the kind of opportunities that they are willing to offer to you or give to you, you most likely would not receive the resources that would allow you to be able to create and expand, much less to get to their level. Reasons why I'm very concerned about this is because we are gradually witnessing our society being eroded. We celebrated Elon Musk becoming a Musk becoming a trillionaire by taking a company public, SpaceX. Great deal, great idea, good for him. But we have a trillionaire existing in an economy where the total debt of everybody in that economy, everybody using credit card debt, sums up to the same wealth that he has. So whilst we are praising the idea that he has become a trillionaire, at what cost to the average guy? Are giving them money and negotiating interest rates with them, the banks are transferring all the weight of whatever they lose on their end to the average guy. But for the rich and wealthy, leverage and they have the opportunities. That will allow them to sit table with the board of the bank to discuss interest rates. If we continue like this, we're gradually going a point where at the coming generation would have to work quadruple as hard just to get by. Because all the wealth have been sucked up by just a few. Wealth is a form of power. And with power, you can control systems. With power, you can control laws. With power, you can shield your assets. And with power, you can remain at the top. I hope this helps someone.
