Here's why. Most investors put all their money in one stock and one headline and one bad earnings can absolutely destroy your portfolio. However, if you're a beginner, you should buy ETFs because you can reduce your risk exposure and be more diversified in the stock market. The reason is ETFs own multiple companies with just one fund. So if one company does bad, you'll be perfectly fine because there'll be other 500 companies carrying that portfolio.
