‼️Travel ALERT ‼️ Europe and UK for 2026 There are new entry rules if you’re traveling with a U.S. passport, and your passport alone may not be enough anymore. IMPORTANT: Some of these Europe and UK travel requirements are happening RIGHT NOW, and another major travel waiver is coming in Q4 2026. Here’s what you need to know so you can still get into Europe and the UK, plus the travel tips you need for Europe 2026 when it comes to travel authorizations, digital border checks, and border control. My name is Karen Schaler. I’m an Emmy Award-winning journalist. I’ve been to more than 68 countries through my Travel Therapy TV show, movies, and books I write, and I’m here giving you daily travel tips. In this travel tips video, I’m answering your travel questions about traveling to Europe and the UK. We are talking about three major travel changes for 2026. ✈️ Happening right now: EES The EU Entry/Exit System, also called EES, happens when you arrive in Europe at your first point of entry into one of the 29 countries using the system. The EES is not something you apply for before your trip. You need to be prepared for possible long lines as much as two and three hours to get the EES and how it could impact transfers and layovers and other travel plants. I’m sharing travel tips for the EES so you know what to expect before you land in Europe. ✈️ Happening right now: UK ETA The UK ETA, or Electronic Travel Authorisation, is already required for many travelers visiting the United Kingdom, including U.S. passport holders. You need to apply before you travel to England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. Only use the OFFICIAL website or APP. I’m sharing travel tips for the ETA so you know what to do before traveling to the UK. ✈️ Coming Q4 2026: ETIAS ETIAS is the new European travel authorization expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026. Once it begins, many U.S. passport holders will need this travel waiver before visiting 30 European countries. I’m sharing travel tips for the ETIAS so you know what is coming before you plan your 2026 Europe trip. Bottom line: If you are planning Europe travel or UK travel in 2026, do not just check your passport expiration date. You also need to understand the UK ETA, the EU Entry/Exit System, and the upcoming ETIAS travel waiver. Sharing my travel tips 2026 for Europe and UK so you know what to expect at border control and what travel requirements could apply to you. I’m here for daily travel tips, Europe travel updates, UK travel rules, travel requirements for U.S. citizens, and what you need to know before your next international trip and answering your travel questions.
