👉 If you have the Amex Platinum you have $300 of hotel credit to spend before June 30th. This is my favorite trick to increase the chances of getting upgraded to a suite! Many hotels (though not all) will only upgrade you one room category. So to increase my chances of getting a suite upgrade, I always try book the room just one level below the suite level. You can check the room categories and prices on the Amex Travel website. Your chances are even better if you’re booking last minute and can see there are still suites available online. You can always call the hotel in advance and ask what their upgrade policy is if you want to check that they use the 1-category upgrade rule. Good luck on your next suite upgrade!
