I promise I wasn't trying to leave you hanging. I just had two more coats of paint and the best part, this entire project cost less than $100. Part 2 of painting the garage door black. The second and third coats went on with a roller, which made the whole process a lot faster. And for those who are asking, where's Mike? Coat 2, he was at work. Coat 3, he was at the gym. Honestly though, I like doing projects like this on my own because I get to do them exactly how I want. When it was time to get the weather stripping back on, I quickly realized that was definitely a two-person job, so Mike came back to help me get it secured. Finished everything off, I added these magnetic door handles and hinges from Amazon. I'm still debating whether to spray paint them white so they stand out a little bit more. What do you think? So here's the full cost breakdown. Paint $68.32, roller $11.28, magnetic hardware $15.99. I already had the paint brush and drop cloth and cleaning supplies on hand, which helped keep the cost low. And now our new door looks perfectly black for less than $100. Would you paint your garage door or spend $1,500 replacing it?
