Welcome to day two of finally reorganizing my garage. If you are new here, my name is Katie and I'm kind of obsessed with all things cleaning and organizing. And I'm so embarrassed that this is my garage, so we are going to do something about that. This is where we ended on day one. As you can see, it still needs a lot of work, so let's get into day two. First things first, I want to get this wall painted as soon as possible. We are of course wiping it down and painting it with our same Tri-Corn black color. I found this paint can in my basement and I have no idea what project this is for. We are going to use it for this one. I am determined to make this one gallon of paint work for the whole entire room. So although everything could have used a second coat, we didn't end up doing a second coat on any of the walls because there's going to be so much storage in front of it, you're not going to even really be able to tell. And remember, we're trying to do this on a budget. My budget is $500 for this whole project. If I can get away with a free gallon of paint that I found in my basement, that's what I'm going to do. This was the only day that I had off with my husband, so I definitely had to get all the big projects done with him. We rearranged a lot of our storage areas and we actually ended up moving shelves around. I did buy another cabinet off of Amazon. Again, this one was about $100, because one thing this room needs is better storage. I also had a shelving unit in a different area of my house that we ended up re-utilizing for this room. I know what you're thinking, isn't this for toy storage? And you're right, but why can't it be for shoe storage, too? I also don't have a good entryway mudroom in my house, so I really wanted to make the back door like a focal point. Of course, I'm going to add beadboard. And I know what you're thinking, isn't that spending more money? But hear me out, I had a $90 gift certificate to Menards, so this was basically free. And even if it wasn't, it totally added the focal point to the back door that I really wanted, so it was worth it in the end. Final thing that we are doing for this day is going through all of the random tools. I don't want to get rid of stuff that my husband really wants to keep, so I'm having him go through everything so that I can organize it tomorrow. This is where we ended on the end of day two, and there is so much more work to do, so make sure you follow along for tomorrow.
