China just dropped another AI model that could change the way we bring the real world online. It's cheaper than you could imagine and no. It's not another chatbot. If you're new, I'm Biggie Chin. I do business in China and let me tell you, if you understand and use the technology that's coming out of that country, you have a massive advantage. So let's talk about it. GLM-OCR is a vision language model from Zhipu AI out of Beijing, China. You probably know that OCR stands for optical character recognition. GLM stands for bidirectional architecture. It's developed at Tsinghua University. Specifically, it uses autoregressive blank infilling, which means it understands text really well. Like really well. Why does this matter? Well, for one, it could destroy a billion dollar industry that charges you $10 a page to process information. This thing does it for fractions of a penny. Imagine paying $500 to process a stack of invoices. Now imagine paying 3 cents. Same result. It might be faster, it might be more accurate, but it's 16,000 times cheaper.
