GOD, WHAT IF

God… What if she never comes back? That question haunts every man going through a marriage separation. When your wife pulls away, asks for space, or says she doesn’t know if she loves you anymore, it’s easy to make her your source of peace. Every text gives you hope. Every cold response destroys you. Every day becomes an emotional roller coaster. I know because I lived it. The biggest breakthrough in my marriage wasn’t when I learned how to get my wife back. It was when God showed me that I had made my emotional thermostat. If she ignored me, I unraveled. If she showed me hope, I felt alive. And if she grew distant, I questioned my worth. I thought my biggest problem was losing my marriage. It wasn’t. It was that I had lost myself. God wasn’t ignoring my prayers. He was answering a deeper one. He was tearing out my fear, my insecurity, my need to control, my dependence on someone else’s approval. I won’t lie, that process was painful. Because healing always requires honesty. Little by little, the Holy Spirit taught me to stand on Him instead. To lead instead of panic. To have peace instead of desperation. To become the man He created me to be. And somewhere along the way, I realized something. If God restored my marriage, praise Him. And if He’s still writing the story, praise Him. Because becoming the man He called me to be was never a wasted journey. My marriage was restored. But that wasn’t the greatest miracle. The greatest miracle was that I was. Sam, and I love you.
