Our customer had a second "jade" bangle she wanted us to see. The sound test was harder to read on this one, which can happen. So we brought out the UV light, and that's where it became clear. Under UV, the treated bangle gave off a very obvious neon glow, a sign of the polymer resin used in treatment. It's a great reminder that no single test is foolproof. The sound test is on helpful clue, but pairing it with other checks (and ultimately a gem lab to be 100% sure) gives you the full picture.
